For Individuals
Individual Accent, Voice
& Presentation Coaching
OVERVIEW
Be seen and heard the way you want to.
These sessions are personalised one-to-one coaching. With an extensive background in coaching people from diverse backgrounds and a range of countries, I help people like you achieve your ideal vocal presence.
Accent Coaching
Everyone learns differently, and I deliver accent coaching through a range of techniques and work responsively to meet the needs of each individual.
I coach most accents and dialects and I’m able to analyse and coach any that I’m not familiar with.
If you need to speak with a specific accent or dialect for a performance role (film, television or theatre), there’s more information on the For Actors & Producers page.
Accent Softening & Modification *
If you wish to soften an accent in your everyday speech, this can be accomplished through a series of sessions which build awareness of your current speech patterns. With exercises to practice in your own time, you’ll gain the confidence to express yourself in the way that is understood by those around you.
* Some see this service as ‘accent reduction’ - personally I prefer the term ‘accent softening’ or ‘modification’.
Voice Coaching
I offer individual voice coaching that is tailored to meet your requirements and covers the keys to exploring your vocal potential.
From breathing, presence and sensitivity to vocal expression, resonance and placement, we’ll go through everything you’ll need for the vocal presence you want.
Presentation &
Public Speaking
Whenever we step up to speak, in any setting, we want to engage the attention of whoever is listening, regardless of our role. Public speaking can be daunting, but with the right guidance and some simple steps, speaking with confidence and integrity can be achieved.
For more of an ideas on how to speak with impact, check out the BeSpoke For Professionals page.
The areas that we can develop as we work together
Presentation Skills
There are many ways to build the confidence needed to express and present your ideas.
Connecting effectively with your audience calls for an understanding of presence, including posture and vocality.
Resonance & Placement
Increasing resonance gives both strength and power to your voice. Awareness of the placement of resonance gives warmth and clarity to your voice.
Vocal Expression
The way you use pitch, pace and pause contributes to vocal expression, and makes it easier for you to communicate and for your listener to engage with what you say.
Breathing
Breath is the foundation of voice work, and time spent exploring in the natural movement of breath is always an investment.
Presence
When we feel present, our speech, facial expressions, posture and movements align. It's been described as 'the state of being attuned to and able to comfortably express your true thoughts, feelings, values, and potential.'
Presence was the subject of my RCSSD Master’s thesis, and is an area of specialty for me. I invite you to explore how grounding, posture and breath contribute to vocal and physical presence.
Thank you very much for the English speaking lessons! Your teaching skills and knowledges are brilliant, you helped me solve many English speaking questions that have confused me for years.
Every lesson I can learn something useful from you. And in just a few weeks time, I can feel the big difference of my English speaking between before the course and after.
The lessons totally achieved my expectation before we started. And I would recommend Perry to other people if they really want to improve their accent and English speaking skills!"
